I had a very exciting breakthrough last week just completely out of the blue. For a long time I’ve been a little stuck in Cory’s family tree tracing the lineage of Francis Adams Lobner. We knew her parents and that her father was from Germany, but William Adam(s) (it shows up both ways) was hard to search with no more specific details that I had found.
I received a note via Ancestry from a cousin who is descended through William’s sister Theresia. I had no idea William had a sister, so there’s a whole new branch of the family that has been added. On top of that, we now know where in Germany the family came from – Greding, Bavaria – and it sounds like William’s father – also William – was the mayor of the town at one point.
I’ll be busy adding the pieces to my tree and will now be able to do a project in Germany looking at the family lineage there – so excited to see what I can find!
