This post is a continuation of my posts on the 6th generation of my family tree. Counting myself as Generation 1, the 6th generation is my 3X Great Grandparents. Johann Heinrich (Henry) Dehning and Katherine Reichman are the parents of my 2X Great Grandfather Henry Peter Dehning, and Henry is the father of my Great Grandmother Meta Johanna Dehning who married Walter Kallsen. There are a couple of branches I don’t have details for as I look at the women who came from Germany, and as that changes I will add additional information
Henry is already mentioned in a prior post as a Pioneer Family of Nebraska.
The information I have on the Dehning Family line primarly comes from the Dehning Family Association in Bremen, Germany. They have researched the Dehning line back to Hans Dehning who was born in 1605 and farmed as part of the Luneburger Heide (Luneburg Heath) in Lower Saxony, Germany. I have several of the newsletters and am happy to share details from them as requested.
The Dehning family association also went to the work to create a family crest for each of the three Dehning family lines. There are three Dehnings that they can’t find records to tie together, so each one requires it’s own crest.
