I have completed the first pass at documentation for my 2X Great Grandparents, and will start posting from the top of the tree. Gottlob and Anna are the parents of my Great Grandfather Benjamin Gottlob Mauser. As always, if there is something incorrect, unclear or missing in what I have, I welcome corrections and additions. These documents are always a work in progress as new data sources are found or come online.
Gottlob and Anna are both immigrants from Germany. We know that Gottlob was born in Unterbrüden, Backnang, Neckarkreis, Württemberg, Germany I don’t know for certain where Anna was born, but just before sailing to America her family lists Meldorf, Süderdithmarschen, Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany as their home.
To supplement some of the information in the biography here are a few items. Gottlob settled his land as part of the Homestead Act, while Anna’s mother had ground as part of the Timber Claim Act. If you look at the piece of ground that was part of the timber claim act on the map in the biography document I don’t think there’s a tree to be found. History Nebraska notes that this was a pretty unsuccessful act for a number of reasons.
