This year I signed up for an e-course with Family Locket Genealogy to improve my research skills and get a bit of structure into my research. For the course I needed to select a research project and while there are many options I decided on one that was probably not a super hard project, but something that I did need to find some solid documentation on.
I have been working on assumptions for quite a while that Cory’s 3X Great Grandmother who married Robert Ambler was Mary Bartleson. There was a fair bit of indirect evidence to prove this fact, but nothing that was direct evidence.
I went through all of the research steps and learned so much through the process both on how to improve my research and for my research subjects.
As a result of the project, I found a newspaper record of a marriage between Robert Ambler and Mary Bartleson in the Philadelphia Public Ledger Newspaper. That was a great piece of evidence.

The crowning piece though was found in the estate documents for Mark Bartleson. In this he names all of his children and then Mary Ambler Seibert and Mark Ambler the children of his deceased daughter. That was the piece that finally put all the pieces together.
I’m happy to share the research document with anyone who is curious and now to start the process for another research project!
