I have a couple of projects that I have started 2026 with in hopes to find a few more details.
First, I signed up for an e-course with Family Locket using their Research Like A Pro process. I am hoping to use this course as a framework to revisit some research I had done earlier on Cory’s 3rd Great Grandmother Mary (assumed Bartleson) who married Robert Ambler and died young. I have some good leads that make me believe her parents are Mark Bartelson and Mary McKnight, but I am hoping this process helps me put some additional details to that belief
I also have hired a researcher in PA after a ran out of online material trying to find information on the family of another of Cory’s 3rd Great Grandmothers. Dorothea married John Perlette and it appears that her father might be a Phillip Garrick, but this has many variant spellings in the records, so I am hopeful that there will be some details that can be found.
Both of these women were born in the 1835-1840 time frame and died in the 1860-1865 time frame when records aren’t always as easy to find and often harder for women. There has to be something that helps and possibly combined with some DNA analysis I can find the details for these ladies.
