The project I had with American Ancestors to see if we could use DNA to find any information on the parents of Jacob/Jasper Phillips, my 3rd Great Grandfather on my Great Grandmother Marjorie Bayne Munter’s branch of the family. They utilized the DNA results that we have in the tree and compared to other people who have tested in Ancestry DNA. As you may recall from previous posts on this topic, we have a cousin who has done research on this family and believes that the parents of Jacob Phillips are Daniel Phillips and Clarissa Fuller.
Unfortunately, the DNA project was inconclusive at this point. So, while we do have one researcher who believes he has found the correct parents, at this point via American Ancestors we have been unable to find any documentary evidence or DNA evidence that help provide any clues to Jacob’s parents.
I’m sure that he didn’t just appear out of nowhere, so at some point we will find enough of a clue to prove or disprove Daniel and Clarissa. For now, this will continue to be an open research project.
