Peoria County Genealogy Society – Volunteer Day

On Saturday I was able to help the Peoria County Genealogicial Society with a “jumpstart” day. A group of people who have been working on their family tree for a while (some of them are likely considered experts, I don’t think I’d put myself in that category – just more experienced than someone just getting started).

It was fun! I worked with three different people who had a variety of different types of things they were struggling to find and for one of them found an elusive record that proved the marriage of her grandparents. I was so thankful I was avialable to help.

I don’t know if they have any more of these planned in the future, but I’ll be there again if I can. It’s amazing sometimes how a fresh set of eyes sometimes finds the detail that’s missing. πŸ™‚
