Nebraska Century Farm / Pioneer Award

I started work on this last year to see if our family qualified for the Aksarben Pioneer Award that recognizes farm families that have held the same ground in the family for 100 years or 150 years.

After a quick stop at the county courthouse in Deuel County it looks like the Mauser family has three quarter sections that have been in the family for over 100 years. Isn’t that amazing?! One of the quarters is the original homestead for Gottlob Mauser. The board now has my application and here’s hoping that everything passes their criteria.

I’ll post more updates as I have additional information and what a fun recognition for families that have worked hard for many years on the same piece of property.
