I’ve been trying to post on a somewhat regular basis with new finds, update biographies or other fun things and somehow an entire month got away from me.
Partially life got busy with a lot of different things, and partially I am waiting on a few updates that are starting to trickle in.
Right now I have over 100 VHS tapes I’ve taken in for conversion to Digital – those could be interesting! I also have an audio recording from my parents wedding that I’ve sent off for digital conversion. It will be fun to listen to that as well.
Genealogy research wise, there is work happening on the Perlette family, and on John Perlette’s wife Dorothy Gelwick, who has proven pretty hard to track. I have a request out in Wales for research on Cory’s Owens line and that work has started. I have a request into a society in Canada for information on Cory’s Chase line that went to Canada during the revolution and hope to make some connections there. I have a research project out on my Mead line and depending on the result of that project I should have another Mayflower line as well as a Rev War Patriot. Sadly I think we have two men with the same name, so it’s been a bit tricky. I also have a research project out to see if we can determine the wife of Elijah Hurd who is a proven Mayflower line, but the documentation used for his wife doesn’t meet the DAR standards, so hopefully that research will uncover something useful. I also have a request in for some records in Kentucky trying to make a determination on the parents of John Bayne’s wife Charity Turner. Online trees have parents for her that I don’t think are correct. I also made a great cousin connection on our Phillips line and hope to uncover some of the mysteries there working together.
That’s a lot of stuff happening, even if it isn’t coming in quite as quickly as it has in the past.
I likely need to check my lists again and make sure I am current with all of my bios for ancestors. I think I’m current with everyone I have complete data for, but I may have missed someone.
I may need to come up with some new ideas for blog topics. There’s no shortage of information and things happening – just a recent shortage of blog posts.
