Swiss Family Munter Research

Thanks to Tree Tidings Research for all the help on a project to search out the Munter Family Tree. Stephen has done a lot of work for me on the German branches of my tree and was also diligent in searching the records in Bern, Switzerland to find records on the Munter family.

Gottlieb Munter and his wife Eliza Stucke came to the United States and raised their family in Nebraska as detailed in a post specific to them.

As I don’t have any specifics on the lives of the Swiss family, I am including here just some screen prints of the family tree as we know it know. These family seem to have been in Bern for a long time.

Because of the way the Ancestry Tree works, I have one screen print for Gottlieb’s wife Eliza showing her family and then an image for Gottlieb’s father Fredrich and one for his mother Elizabeth.

It looks like EIiza’s mother Susanna was considered illegitimate when she was born and there is also what looks like a record for another daughter of Susanna (sister to Eliza) who was also considered illegitimate in the church records. Interestingly enough, Susanna’s mother Magdalena also was considered illegitimate in the church records. I’m sure there is a very interesting family story there.

Clicking on these images should allow for a full screen view.
