Luther Hagerdon and Fanny Pettey are the parents of my 3X Great Grandfather James Knox Hagerdon, then his son Luther Hagerdon and my Great Grandmother Gladys Hagerdon Anderson. I have found a lot of good information on Luther short of his actual birth and death dates and have slowly been finding more information on Fanny.

Luther was a very active citizen during his time in Green Bay before heading west to California. His schooner Eclipse is also a marked shipwreck near Wisconsin. Sadly, after the 1870 census where Luther and his second wife Zilpha are in Iowa, they seem to disappear. The records of them after that point just haven’t been found. One day I will be able to close the chapter for them and know where they went to after their stop in Iowa.
