Edmund Vawter and Sarah Follis are the parents of my 3X Great Grandmother Louisiana Wood Vawter, then her son Luther Hagerdon and my Great Grandmother Gladys Hagerdon Anderson. Both the Vawter and Follis families have wonderful documentation, but proving this generation was hard. They seem to have been born in an area and time period with few records, and didn’t live long lives which complicated things a bit.
I’ve not found any reference to Sarah’s father, but thankfully found a person identified as her mother, and her grandparents indentified. Sarah then died young leaving children who had a stepmother. Another cousin on this line noted that all stories mentioning the new stepmother state that she was a lovely person.
I don’t presently have any photos or newspaper clippings for this family, maybe over time we will have some pieces added in that will provide more data for the family. So thankful for the few pieces I was able to put together on these two as filling in their details allowed me to confidently connect to a larger family tree branch on each side.
