Zalmon Livermore and Olive Caldwell Hall are the parents of my 3X Great Grandparents Joseph William Livermore and Sylvia Hazelrigg, their daughter Lena Livermore and my Great Grandmother Gladys Hagerdon Anderson. The Livermore family has been fairly well traced and was a respected family in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Zalmon was one of the early settlers in Jackson County, Iowa entering the state when the Iowa Territory had just been broken off from the Wisconsin Territory, which was first part of the Michigan Territory.
Olive has an interesting story as well, and as you will read, she has two siblings who also have interesting stories.
Visiting the town of Maquoketa, IA where Zalmon settled and stayed for most of his life make it easy to find several good tidbits of information and I think you’ll find the bio here full of details.
Clicking on any of the images below will open it in full screen at which point you can zoom in or download as desired. Zalmon’s obituary is really hard to read, but I do have a transcription if anyone is interested.
