Posts Beginning for Nicole’s 4X Great Grandparents

I’m starting this week on the biographies for my 4X Great Grandparents. If you’re counting, this is 6 generations back from me. As I look at these dates, many of the people were born before 1800, or the early 1800’s and a good number of them were deceased before the Civil War started, or lived for a short time after the Civil War. The dates make some of the research harder as the traditional records for birth, death, marriage and so on are harder to find, and in some cases the people were living in territories that were expansions of the United States and the area wasn’t even yet a state.

The number of biographies I have to write are focused on just a few branches of the family as of my eight Great Grandparents only three of them weren’t from immigrant families that arrived in the mid 1800’s. For those I have posted the associated research on their trees in their homelands with the immigrant generation. Some we have great data on, others are a bit harder to track.

These posts for my 4X Great Grandparents are for the Pocock, Hagerdon and Bayne lines.

I’m sure that as I get going I’ll also receive some of my research questions back that I have for Cory’s 3X Great Grandparents and as those come in I’ll post details when I can.

There are some really interesting stories in this next group that I’m sure you’ll love!
