I just returned from a research trip to Rock Island County, IL and put together a few last pieces that allowed me to confidently post this information on Robert Robison and Sarah Ann Bell.
Robert and Sarah are Cory’s 3X Great Grandparents. They are the parents of his 2X great grandmother Sarah Robison, who is the mother of his great grandfather Walter Storer, who is the father of his grandfather Lavern Storer.
The trip to Rock Island confirmed the parents of both Robert and Sarah and gave information on their early married life. Robert is a veteran of the Civil War, and I put the details of that in another post.
Sarah was living in St Joseph County, IN in 1850 for the census, and by 1852 had moved to Rock Island County and was married. Robert’s Civil War Pension includes a testimony by Henry Clay Harris who states he is Sarah’s Cousin. Henry is the son of Thomas Harris who is a sibling to Sarah’s mother, also named Sarah. I think it’s safe to assume that Sarah came to IL with family, but the WHY is maybe still a bit of a mystery.
