As I work through the documents for Cory’s 2X Great Grandparents here is the next family. Owen Williams and Margaret Jane Owens are the parents of Cory’s Great Grandmother Susie Williams Storer and Susie is the mother of Cory’s Grandfather Lavern Storer.
Owen and Margaret have proven harder to track for a couple of reasons. One being that Owen is a first generation from Wales. Margaret came over with her parents, and they were the immigrant family from Wales.
Wales used a patronymic system of naming for a long time and while they later adopted fixed surnames, Owens and Williams are among some of the most common. Thanks to some research help from “Your Welsh Ancestors” I have been able to determine a fair bit of information on both families.
Margaret was born in Llanidloes, Wales based on both her obituary and tracking her family. Owen was born in Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Wales as determined by tracking his family in Wales.
