This is the final installment of documentation of my 2X Great Grandparents on my paternal side. Henry Peter Dehning and Ulricka Albertina Christina Bauers are the parents of my Great Grandmother Meta Johanna Dehning. As always, if there is something incorrect, unclear or missing in what I have, I welcome corrections and additions. These documents are always a work in progress as new data sources are found or come online.
Henry and Ulricka (pronounced Eureka) are both immigrants from Germany. The Dehning family association documentation says that Henry was born in Hannover Province, Germany (Prussia). I don’t currently have a birth record but believe my link is close to accurate. Ulricka lists her birthplace as Barfussdorf, Germany (Prussia) and while I don’t yet have records, I believe the location is accurate and is actually in modern day Poland.
Information in the Bauers family book, which I have copied pages from Orval Dehning and Tywlia Dehning states that the Dehning family helped the Bauers family come to America from what I understand this was not an uncommon practice. One family would come over and then they would help another family and so on.
