Reuben Anderson and Gladys Hagerdon Anderson Service Station

Reuben and Gladys, my maternal Great Grandparents, owned and operated a service station and cafe in Laurel, Ne for many years. The best time frame I have is from the Cedar County, NE History. From there we learn that Home Oil Company was owned and operated by August Weseloh in the early 1920’s and was later purchased by Charles Ebmeier who employed Reuben Anderson. Home Cafe and Service Station was later built on Highway 20 and was a successful truck stop managed by Reuben and Gladys. In 1944, Reuben Anderson purchased the Tom Norris property and constructed a new service Station that I believe was Anderson’s Deep Rock, which was later purchased by Lester and Ella Bartels in 1959.

Below are a few photos of the station over the years, and if you have additional information, or photos I always love to learn more.
