I sat down for a while and thought about the best way to try and organize data. It’s hard with so much data and so many fun things to share! For now, here’s what my plans are.
I am going to base my category tags from any couples where both are deceased. For my family, with both of my grandmothers still living all category tags will start with my great grandparents and will be tagged according to the proper family. For Cory’s family, with none of his grandparents living, all tags will base off of his grandparents.
I am going to try and not post any confidential or personal information where I can help it. So, for instance, I have service records for my grandparents in WWII, as well as birth, death and marriage certificates for most generations, but will share those as requested rather than making them public information. I’m also going to try and minimize what I publish on living people and if I do post I will try to keep it very high level. Always feel free to ask if there is something you’re looking for.
I have a LOT of photos and documents in the most recent generations and may not be able to share everything I have. If something is missing that you’d like to see please ask – I may have something and will be able to share. I am hoping that the links to the photos and documents provide enough detail that everyone can zoom in and see what they are looking for, but if not, please ask for more details and I can send them to you.
I am always open to collecting new information and welcome anything you may have or may find that is interesting, tells a story or adds to an existing story I have.
I’m learning a new blog platform as I do this, so there may be a bit of experimentation that goes on too – hopefully the fumbling around isn’t obvious to you as a user.
This is a fun journey exploring family history and I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do! There should be a subscribe option on the front page of this blog if you want to be notified of any future updates.
